In de jaren zestig en zeventig waren de schoolfotografen heel creatief.
Je moest doen alsof je iets knutselde of bouwde. Dat de hele school dat jaar met hetzelfde werkje op de kiek ging deed er niet toe.
Het lintje mocht ik zeker niet doorknippen en wie heeft eigenlijk het achtergrondschilderij gemaakt?

Er bereikte mij nog een briljante variant; een boom op het schoolplein.
De hele klas naar buiten en dan om beurten bij die boom gaan staan en een spontane pose aannemen (terwijl de hele klas toekeek).

School photographs were really creative in the 60s and 70s.
It had to be an action photo like you were building or tinkering with something or other. That the entire school was busy building the same thing that year didn’t really matter.
I was definitely not going to cut that ribbon and who actually painted the background picture?

And then you have the other type, a tree in the schoolyard.
The entire class out to the schoolyard and taking turns posing spontaneously next to
the tree, (while the rest of the class looked on).
